PT Switchboard Operator 4pm-8pm (Berks Heim Nursing & Rehabilitation)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Main responsibility is to answer and direct telephone calls in a polite and informative manner in a fast-paced environment. Process all inter-communication through multi-line, unlimited extension switchboard.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answer and delegate incoming calls.

Perform receptionist responsibilities- greet visitors, receive packages

Perform clerical duties .

Open/Close switchboard.

Make Public Announcements .

Receive and delegate calls regarding resident appointments.

Check telephone bills for personal long-distance calls.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have general computer and keyboarding knowledge.
Possess knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment.
Ability to speak English in a clear, pleasant voice and manner.
Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
Ability to read and sort mail.
Ability to hear and respond with tact and courtesy to a wide variety of situations (including residents, visitors, and staff requests) in both routine and emergency situations.
Have a pleasant and courteous personality.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and employee information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit long periods of time.
Good hearing and speaking ability.
Ability to handle stress.
Physical presence in the office is required.
