Job Overview:
The PTW (Permit to Work) Holder for mechanical operations is responsible for overseeing the issuance and compliance of permits related to mechanical maintenance and construction activities. This role ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Permit Management: Issue, track, and manage permits for mechanical activities, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to the commencement of work, identifying potential hazards and implementing necessary control measures.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and safety personnel to coordinate all permit-related activities and ensure seamless execution of mechanical tasks.
- Site Monitoring: Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with permit conditions and safety protocols, addressing any deviations promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all permits issued, including scopes of work, risk assessments, and compliance inspections.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on the permit to work process, emphasizing safety practices and compliance requirements.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate any incidents or near misses related to permit violations, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, construction, or a similar role within the industrial sector.
- Certifications: Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are advantageous.
- Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
