Overview:
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire a Public Affairs Coordinator to join its Public Affairs team.
Responsibilities:
The Public Affairs Coordinator focuses on social media production and public affairs project management. It tracks and reports public affairs project timelines and it leads social media writing, posting, monitoring, and real-time event social media production across NFIB’s social media platforms. It supports efficient project-related communication across departments and supports smooth and effective Public Affairs department operations.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and/or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures. Performs other projects as needed.
The Salary Range for this position is - $60,000 – $70,000
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

One (1) year of relevant work experience.

Strong editing and writing skills, with knowledge of the following: integrated social media strategy, strategic communications planning and reporting, earned media strategy, project and timeline management, and developing editorial calendars.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint). Experience with Asana, Canva, Teams, Hootsuite a plus.

Excellent time and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter who can work independently and collaborate with others.

Highly organized with the ability to plan effectively, handle multiple, shifting priorities under tight deadlines, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This individual must be able to make quick decisions and produce results in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of the news cycle and its 24-hour nature is important, as is the ability to form and nurture relationships with colleagues.
