SUMMARY:

We seek a “can-do” type to join our team as Public Programming Associate (PPA). Based at our Los Angeles campus in Historic Filipinotown, our PPA will support the administrative, operational and curatorial initiatives relating to film and conversation centric events dedicated to narrative change storytelling on ARRAY’s Creative Campus and beyond. If you are familiar with the term “elbow grease” and know how to apply that to a work environment, then ARRAY might be the place for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work under the direction of the EVP of Public Programming to realize the conception and seamless execution of ARRAY’s programming initiatives.
  • Lead administrative duties such as schedule management, team meeting agendas and inventory.
  • Maintain the public programming archive of event materials and marketing assets.
  • Build social media calendars for the team and track posts.
  • Generate event recap reports that illustrate the program scope as well as other presentations.
  • Contribute to team brainstorms to activate a wide variety of programmatic initiatives.
  • Research and effectively communicate with vendors.
  • Identify filmmakers, production professionals, scholars and other experts to introduce and participate in ARRAY programs as needed.
  • Collect and maintain files for guest bios, headshots and other key film materials.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for program guests as needed.
  • Learn and assist with managing digital event and ticketing platforms including tracking status of event RSVPs/tickets.
  • Learn and assist with managing digital theater projection systems.
  • Draft promotional copy for event calendars, websites, publications or other media to promote programming events.
  • Engage and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including internal staff, industry experts, audience members and external partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must love films and have knowledge of filmmakers of all kinds as well as the film industry/community.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience preferably in a film festival, special events, TV/film studio or agency, non-profit or museum environment.
  • A minimum of 1-year of full-time work experience required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
  • Professional and proactive organizational and project-based skills.
  • Comfortable with internal collaborations, communications and acting within part of the larger company team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior presentation skills and sound judgment.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, BlueSky) and content creation is ideal.
  • Interest in advocating inclusive representation of underrepresented communities in front of and behind the camera.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, creative, collaborative and nimble environment.
