PR & Marketing Communications is seeking a dedicated and experienced Video Specialist.
The Division of Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC) at Georgia State University is hiring a Video Specialist at its downtown Atlanta location. Reporting to the Manager of Videography, the selected candidate will work with the leadership team in PRMC and university partners supporting the creation of high-quality video and multimedia content that advances the university’s brand, storytelling and strategic communications. This role is hands-on across all phases of production- from concept support through final delivery- with a strong emphasis on video capture, editing and asset management.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Video Specialist are the following:
Captures and produces video content for marketing, communications, campaigns, and digital platforms.
Edits video projects from rough cut through final delivery, including color correction, audio mixing, and formatting for multiple platforms.
Supports pre-production planning, including concept development, storyboarding, and shot list creation.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders and creative teams to execute video projects aligned with brand standards and strategic goals.
Assists with multi-camera shoots, lighting setups, audio capture, and on-location or studio production.
Maintains organized project files, consistent naming conventions, and proper media management with the Digital Asset Library. (DAL)
Adapts content for various formats, including short-form, long-form, and social-first video.
Supports live/event coverage and other production needs assigned.

Proficiency with professional video equipment, including DSLR/mirrorless/cinema cameras, lighting, and audio gear.
Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, working knowledge of After Effects, Audition, and other post-production tools.
Understanding of video storytelling principles, pacing, and visual composition.
Ability to produce content for multiple platforms, including social media, web, and digital campaigns.
Strond organizational skills, including file management, naming conventions and asset archiving practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with digital asset management systems and media workflows.
Awareness of current trends in video production, social media, and emerging formats.
Ability to work evenings/weekends if needed and assist with transporting production equipment.

Salary : $55,100 to $69,000
