Public Relations Officer – Government

A Public Relations Officer (PRO) – Government Relations for a software company in Egypt acts as the primary liaison between the organization and governmental bodies, ensuring compliance with local laws while facilitating business operations. This role blends administrative government liaison duties with corporate communications to maintain a positive public image.

Core Responsibilities

  • Government Liaison & Licensing: Managing all official paperwork, including the renewal of business licenses, trade licenses, and commercial registrations with Egyptian authorities.
  • Labor and Immigration Documentation: Processing employee visas, work permits, residence permits, and labor contracts, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Labor regulations.
  • Corporate Communications: Drafting Arabic and English media content, such as press releases, speeches, and reports to promote company initiatives.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Keeping management informed about changes in labor laws, regulations, and government policies.
  • Networking & Representation: Representing the software company at official meetings, events, and interactions with governmental authorities.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English are crucial for navigating government documentation and corporate communications.
  • Government Knowledge: Deep understanding of Egyptian labor laws, immigration procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong networking and relationship-building abilities, specifically with government officials.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with digital platforms to manage documentation.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a PRO or in a similar corporate communication role within the Egyptian market, preferably within the tech or software sector.Typical Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically 2–5 years of experience in government relations.
