Job Title: Public Relations Representative


Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Public Relations Representative to develop and execute public affairs strategies that enhance awareness, transparency, and stakeholder engagement. The role involves managing digital content, coordinating publicity for events and initiatives, maintaining brand consistency, and overseeing external marketing partnerships. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with media, partners, and community stakeholders while supporting crisis communications and aligning public messaging with organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies.
  • Create, edit, and oversee digital content, including social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and campaign materials.
  • Coordinate publicity efforts for events, volunteer activities, and educational programs.
  • Ensure all creative outputs consistently reflect brand identity, messaging, and tone.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance of contracted marketing agencies or firms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Monitor social media engagement and analyze performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Support crisis communications and reputation management as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align public messaging with organizational goals.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public affairs, marketing, or communications.
  • Proven experience managing external vendors, contractors, or agencies.
  • Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and content creation abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex organizational initiatives into engaging and accessible public messaging.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to engage effectively with media, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and strategic thinking to handle fast-changing priorities.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Marketing, or related field.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit advocacy, community engagement, or specific sectors such as animal welfare.
  • Experience managing PR crises or high-profile campaigns.
  • Skills in graphic design, multimedia production, or video editing.
