Public Works Laborer

Highway Department

• Maintain Borough-owned facilities (Public Works, Borough Hall, Library, Police Station)
• Drive and operate trucks, snowplows, and salt spreaders
• Operate equipment including backhoe, track loader, roller, tractors, etc.
• Operate specialty vehicles including street sweeper and bucket truck
• Roadway and storm sewer repairs and cleaning
• Road sign installation and repairs
• Street line painting and thermoplastic installation
• Operate leaf loader machine during leaf collection
• Clean and maintain vehicles and equipment

Sewer Department

• Check operations of all sewer stations and perform any maintenance or repairs
• Remain on call for any sewer station alarms
• Operation of sewer jetter trailer
• Clean sanitary sewer lines and wet wells
• Cut grass around sewer stations weekly
• Plow and clean snow around sewer stations as needed

Parks Department

• Perform any park maintenance and repairs
• Empty and clean trash receptacles
• Perform landscaping work including mowing, mulching, planting, tree trimming, etc.
• Maintain trails and woods at Paoli Battlefield and Randolph Woods
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for Borough, and MBPA events
• Maintain islands along East & West King Street
• Install holiday lights on trees and poles along King Street

Workflow : All work assigned by Superintendent of Public Works

Equipment Operations: Operates all assigned equipment

Authority: Makes decisions on job-related problems as they occur

Report Preparation: Prepare reports on sewer stations during inspections

Pay: Up to $55,000.00 per year
