The Pump Station Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design verification, construction oversight, installation, and optimization of mechanical systems in sewage and irrigation pump stations. The role ensures all mechanical components—from pumps and piping to valves and fittings—are designed, installed, and commissioned according to technical, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify detailed mechanical design drawings, calculations, and specifications for pump stations.
- Ensure all designs comply with project requirements, tender documents, and industry standards.
- Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction, installation, and commissioning activities at site.
- Review equipment selection to ensure efficiency, reliability, and compliance with hydraulic requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for technical clarifications and approvals.
- Oversee hydraulic performance tests, commissioning, and start-up of pumps and mechanical systems.
- Ensure all works adhere to safety regulations and quality assurance procedures.
- Provide technical input during project planning, procurement, and execution stages.
- Prepare and review method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and technical reports.
- Optimize system integration and operational performance from design through completion.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in pump station projects (sewage, irrigation, or water).
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, piping systems, pump sizing, and mechanical installation works.
- Experience in design verification, tender review, and construction supervision.
- Familiar with UAE authority requirements and international standards (BS, ISO, ASME, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and hydraulic analysis software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in municipal infrastructure or water/wastewater projects.
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures and troubleshooting of pumping systems.
- UAE experience and valid driving license preferred.
