Job Summary:

The Purchase Assistant will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining inventory of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services required for smooth operations in the gas manufacturing industry. The role ensures timely availability of materials, compliance with company policies, and cost-effectiveness in procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in identifying reliable suppliers/vendors for raw materials, cylinders, spare parts, and consumables.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) as per requirements.
• Maintain vendor records, quotations, and price comparisons.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of goods and services.
• Follow up on pending orders and resolve discrepancies related to quality, quantity, or delivery.
• Maintain inventory records and support stock audits.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery challans before forwarding to accounts.
• Liaise with stores, production, and maintenance teams to understand material requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and company procurement policies.
• Support in preparing MIS reports related to purchases, vendor performance, and cost analysis.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate/Diploma in Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in purchase/procurement (manufacturing industry preferred).
• Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
