Job Summary
The Purchase Assistant will support procurement operations for medical and non-medical supplies, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in procurement of medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and non-medical supplies
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery follow-ups
- Coordinate with approved suppliers and vendors for pricing, availability, and lead times
- Maintain accurate procurement records, invoices, GRNs, and stock documentation
- Ensure compliance with MOH / DHA / DOH regulations and internal procurement policies
- Support inventory control to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Monitor supplier performance and assist in vendor evaluations
- Coordinate with finance for invoice verification and payment follow-ups
- Handle emergency or urgent procurement requests efficiently
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in UAE healthcare
- Strong knowledge of medical items, consumables, and local suppliers
- Familiar with ERP systems and MS Office (Excel mandatory)
- Excellent negotiation, coordination, and documentation skills
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
