A Purchase Site Manager in Civil Construction oversees acquiring all project materials, equipment, and services, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery by identifying vendors, negotiating contracts, managing budgets, tracking inventory, coordinating with site teams (engineers, planners), ensuring compliance with standards, and maintaining documentation like POs and invoices to support project timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor & Supplier Management:
  • Identify, vet, and onboard reliable suppliers for materials (cement, steel, finishes, machinery).
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to secure best value.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Procurement Planning & Execution:
  • Develop procurement plans aligned with project schedules and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure materials meet technical specs and quality standards (IS standards).
  • Manage inventory levels on-site to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Cost & Quality Control:
  • Monitor market trends and control overall material procurement costs.
  • Conduct quality checks and coordinate material inspections.
  • Manage budgets and track costs against project estimates.
  • Coordination & Documentation:
  • Liaise with project managers, site engineers, planning, and billing departments.
  • Prepare reports on purchase status, market trends, and supplier performance.
  • Maintain organized records (POs, delivery challans, invoices, GST documents).
  • Strategic Sourcing:
  • Research and evaluate new products, materials, and suppliers.
  • Implement process improvements for more efficient procurement.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of construction materials and market prices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Excel.
  • Understanding of safety and quality compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹43,000.00 per month
