Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and timely delivery. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and shipping terms.
- Procurement and Order Management: Prepare and manage purchase requisitions and orders, ensuring timely procurement of materials and components.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor supplier performance, conduct quality checks, and ensure that procured components meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with production and engineering teams to monitor inventory levels and ensure the right materials are available when needed.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, new product developments, and pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and forecast demand.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and market conditions.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and costs.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent skills in communicating with suppliers and internal teams, and strong negotiation capabilities to secure best deals.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical components, and the ability to read engineering documents and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and procurement software.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise in the procurement process.
- Attention to Detail: Critical for managing contracts, records, and ensuring quality standards are met.
