Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning & Execution

Review material requirements from BOMs and project plans to create purchase requisitions.

Procure a wide range of items including:

Mechanical: MS / SS sheets, bars, pipes, fasteners, bearings, seals, fabrication items, etc.

Electrical: Motors, drives (VFDs), PLCs, HMIs, control panels, sensors, cables, and switchgear components.

Ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and production schedules.

Issue purchase orders (POs) through ERP and track order status.

2. Vendor Development & Management

Identify and develop reliable suppliers for mechanical and electrical categories.

Evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service parameters.

Negotiate commercial terms, lead times, and payment conditions.

Maintain approved vendor lists and supplier performance records.

3. Cost Control & Negotiation

Analyze quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.

Support cost reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing or value engineering.

Monitor price trends for critical materials and suggest procurement strategies.

4. Coordination & Documentation

Coordinate with engineering and production for technical clarifications and specifications.

Liaise with stores and inspection for material receipt, quality checks, and rejections.

Ensure all procurement transactions are accurately entered and tracked in the ERP system.

Maintain documentation for audit, compliance, and vendor payments.

5. Quality & Compliance

Ensure that materials procured meet required technical specifications and quality standards.

Work with QA/QC teams for vendor qualification and inspection processes.

Ensure compliance with statutory and safety requirements for electrical and mechanical materials.

6. Reporting & Analysis

Generate purchase order status, pending order, and cost analysis reports.

Track and report procurement KPIs like purchase lead time, on-time delivery, and vendor performance.

Support management in budgeting and procurement cost forecasting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).

2–5 years of experience in procurement within an OEM or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of mechanical raw materials and electrical components used in machinery/equipment.

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP / Tally Prime / Oracle / similar).

Proficient in MS Excel and documentation for comparative statements and vendor data.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOMs.

Preferred Attributes:

Prior experience with automation and electrical control components (PLC, HMI, VFDs).

Exposure to fabrication and machining vendor management.

Knowledge of import procurement or global sourcing.

Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹37,000.00 per month
