Job Summary:
The Purchase Executive for Automobile Products and Scraps will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement of automobile-related products and scrap materials. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the automotive industry, scrap management, and an ability to negotiate with suppliers while ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Automobile Products:
- Source and procure a wide range of automobile products such as parts, components, accessories, lubricants, and consumables.
- Research and identify reliable suppliers of automotive products and negotiate competitive prices and favorable terms.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the automotive market trends and product developments.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts, components, and accessories to avoid delays in production or vehicle repairs.
- Scrap Management and Procurement:
- Identify and purchase scrap materials such as metals, tires, batteries, and used auto parts for recycling or disposal.
- Establish relationships with scrap vendors and other recycling partners.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards regarding the disposal and recycling of automobile scrap materials.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts for the procurement of scrap material in a cost-effective manner.
- Vendor & Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers of automobile products and scrap materials.
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on pricing, delivery performance, and quality of materials.
- Resolve any issues related to defective or delayed deliveries and work towards finding solutions.
- Ensure suppliers meet the required quality and compliance standards for automotive parts.
- Inventory Management & Stock Control:
- Monitor and control the inventory of automobile products and scrap materials, ensuring the right stock levels are maintained to support operations.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and handling of automobile parts, accessories, and scrap materials.
- Regularly audit and track stock levels to avoid stockouts and minimize surplus inventory.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing the annual budget for the procurement of automobile products and scrap materials.
- Monitor and control procurement expenses to stay within budget while ensuring cost-efficiency.
- Work closely with the finance department to track payments and ensure timely processing of invoices and purchase orders.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, alternative products, and emerging trends in the automobile sector.
- Analyze market prices and trends for automobile products and scrap materials, ensuring the company always gets the best deals.
- Compliance & Quality Control:
- Ensure all purchased automobile products meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain adherence to legal and environmental regulations related to scrap management and disposal.
- Ensure that the products and scrap materials procured comply with safety standards and warranty requirements.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, agreements, and contracts related to automobile products and scrap materials.
- Generate reports for management on procurement activities, supplier performance, inventory levels, and financial status.
- Keep track of the expiry dates, shelf lives, and warranties of automotive products and components.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in purchasing within the automotive industry or related sectors (automobile parts, recycling, etc.).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of automobile products, parts, and the scrap material industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
- Ability to manage inventory and optimize stock levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Understanding of environmental and regulatory standards related to scrap management.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards, quality control, and safety guidelines.
