Role summary
- Handle day‑to‑day procurement activities, including collecting requirements, obtaining quotes, preparing comparisons, and finalising vendors as per policy.
- Issue purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and resolve discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and amendments in line with company procedures and approval limits.
- Coordinate with stores, accounts, and user departments to plan requirements, track open POs, and ensure timely material availability.
- Maintain accurate records of suppliers, price lists, purchase history, and related documents for audits and reporting.
- Monitor market trends, lead times, and cost changes, and suggest alternatives or cost‑saving opportunities.
