Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial valves, actuators (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic) and related components.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / Dynamics).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, assembly).
- Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and procure valves, actuators, castings, forgings, machined parts, seals, gaskets, fasteners, and electrical/pneumatic components.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified vendors in line with technical and quality requirements.
- Maintain and update the approved vendor list (AVL).
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to achieve cost optimization.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply issues.
Technical & Quality Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to understand technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
- Ensure procurement complies with API, ASME, ISO, CE, ATEX, and other relevant standards.
- Support supplier audits and quality inspections as required.
- Manage rejections, non-conformances, and corrective actions with suppliers.
Inventory & Planning
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Support MRP planning and ensure material availability aligned with production schedules.
- Track and follow up on purchase orders and delivery status.
- Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records in ERP systems.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Analyze purchase data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare purchase reports, vendor performance reports, and MIS.
- Support budgeting and cost reduction initiatives.
- Handle import/export documentation where applicable.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and ethical standards.
- Maintain complete documentation including POs, GRNs, invoices, and contracts.
- Support statutory and internal audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of procurement experience in valves, actuators, or heavy engineering industries.
- Knowledge of domestic and international sourcing is an advantage.
