Key Responsibilities Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop a database of reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
Procurement & Sourcing: Plan material requirements based on project schedules, source materials, compare quotations, and prepare Purchase Orders (POs).
Quality & Compliance: Ensure procured items meet Bill of Quantities (BOQ), IS standards, and technical specifications.
Coordination: Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and accounts for material needs, delivery, and payment processing.
Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs and avoid shortages.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of POs, invoices, delivery challans, and GST compliance.
Market Analysis: Track market trends, new products, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in procurement, ideally within the construction sector.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Knowledge of construction materials, BOQ, IS standards, and vendor sourcing.
Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., SAP) is often a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple teams.
