Job Title: Manager – Procurement, Material Planning & Production Planning

Role Objective
The Manager – Procurement, Material Planning & Production Planning will be responsible for end-to-end management of procurement, material planning, and production planning activities to ensure uninterrupted production, optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Purchase Management
- Manage procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and indirect materials.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with vendors to achieve cost optimization.
- Evaluate and onboard new vendors; monitor and review existing vendor performance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
2. Material Planning & Inventory Management
- Prepare material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules and forecasts.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stock-outs, excess inventory, or obsolescence.
- Coordinate with stores and warehouse teams for stock control and reconciliation.
- Implement inventory optimization and control measures to reduce carrying and wastage costs.
3. Production Planning & Coordination
- Prepare detailed production plans in coordination with production, sales, and quality teams.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production targets and dispatch schedules.
- Monitor production progress and proactively address material or supply-related bottlenecks.
- Support new product development and launches by ensuring material readiness.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, Sales, and Stores departments.
- Provide regular MIS reports on procurement status, inventory levels, and production planning.
- Participate in management reviews and planning meetings.
5. Cost Control & Process Improvement
- Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality or timelines.
- Improve procurement, planning, and inventory processes for operational efficiency.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
6. Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and guide the procurement and planning team.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure team development.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in procurement, material planning, and production planning within manufacturing/FMCG industries.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a managerial or lead role preferred.
