Require Purchase Head for our client, a reputed Manufacturer of Luxury Furniture.
Job Overview:
The Purchase Head will be responsible for leading and managing the organization’s procurement and sourcing functions to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality acquisition of materials, products, and services. This role involves developing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, streamlining procurement processes, and aligning purchasing strategies with the company’s overall business objectives. The Purchase Head oversees the procurement team, ensures compliance with company policies, and plays a key role in optimizing supply chain efficiency and cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
· Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s production schedules and cost objectives.
· Forecast material requirements based on sales orders, design inputs, and project timelines.
· Ensure sourcing complies with company’s quality, sustainability, and ethical standards.
2. Vendor Management & Development
· Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for raw materials (wood, veneers, laminates, hardware, upholstery, accessories).
· Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
· Conduct vendor audits to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
3. Cost Optimization & Negotiation
· Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and bulk purchase agreements with suppliers.
· Continuously benchmark prices and introduce cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
· Implement effective inventory and wastage control measures.
4. Operational Efficiency
· Ensure timely procurement of materials as per design & production schedules to avoid delays.
· Collaborate with design, production, and project teams to align procurement with custom furniture requirements.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
5. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
· Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve department goals.
· Establish SOPs for procurement, purchase orders, approvals, and vendor management.
· Introduce digital tools/ERP for procurement and inventory tracking.
Key Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong knowledge of furniture raw materials, hardware, finishes, and upholstery.
2. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
3. Strong analytical skills for budgeting and cost control.
4. Knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and procurement software.
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Graduate in Supply Chain / Procurement / Commerce / Engineering (MBA preferred).
2. 8–15 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5+ years in the furniture/interior industry.
3. Proven track record in vendor development, sourcing, and cost optimization.
4. Exposure to bespoke/customized furniture projects will be an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
