Position: Purchase & Logistics Manager
Department: Procurement, Stores & Logistics

Reports To: Operations Head / General Manager
Job Purpose
To lead and manage end-to-end procurement, inventory, and logistics operations for the diagnostic laboratory while ensuring timely availability of reagents, consumables, equipment, and services at optimal cost and quality. Responsible for efficient distribution of materials across branches and ensuring compliance with NABL/CAP quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
A. Procurement Management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with lab requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors for reagents, consumables, instruments, and service contracts.
- Negotiate pricing, rate contracts, warranty & AMC terms with suppliers.
- Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring compliance with approved budgets.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers and ensure SLA adherence.
B. Inventory & Stores Management
- Oversee stock levels of critical consumables and reagents across all branches.
- Ensure FEFO/FIFO inventory systems are followed strictly to minimize expiry losses.
- Conduct monthly or quarterly physical stock audits.
- Analyze stock movement and forecast requirements based on consumption patterns.
- Implement inventory control measures through ERP/LIS systems.
C. Logistics & Distribution
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for all branches/collection centers.
- Ensure timely delivery of reagents, consumables, and equipment to branches.
- Optimize logistics routes, schedules, and costs.
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) vendor relationships, if applicable.
- Ensure proper maintenance of delivery vehicles and cold-chain systems (if required for sample transport).
D. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure procurement documentation complies with NABL/CAP norms.
- Maintain vendor certification documents (COA, MSDS, calibration certificates).
- Coordinate with QA for audits, CAPA, and quality improvement initiatives.
E. Cost, Budgeting & Data Analysis
- Prepare annual procurement budgets and monitor adherence.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, negotiations, and alternate sourcing.
- Monitor purchase and logistics KPIs and prepare monthly MIS reports.
- Analyze trends in consumption, purchase costs, and supplier performance.
F. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the Purchase, Stores, and Logistics teams.
- Define clear performance goals and monitor progress.
- Conduct training on SOPs, documentation, and procurement processes.

- Strong knowledge of diagnostic lab supplies, reagents & instruments.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management & analytical skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/SAP/LIS inventory systems.
- Strong organizational and multi-location coordination skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Understanding of cold-chain logistics (preferred).
4. Qualifications & Experience
- Education: MBA / BBA in Supply Chain / Operations; or B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Life Sciences with procurement experience.
- Experience: 5–12 years of experience in procurement, stores or logistics; preferably in diagnostics, healthcare, medical devices, or pharma.
- Experience with NABL/CAP procurement documentation is a strong advantage.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
