Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers for lab equipment, reagents, consumables, IT hardware, and facility maintenance items.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure advantageous pricing and service levels.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels of laboratory and diagnostic consumables to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Coordinate with the lab and operations teams to forecast demand and manage reordering schedules.
- Implement inventory control systems for better tracking and reporting.
- Vendor & Compliance Management:
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all purchased items meet required quality and regulatory standards (NABL, NABH, etc.).
- Maintain procurement documentation for audits and compliance checks.
- Cost & Budget Control:
- Monitor purchase budgets and provide regular reports on cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze price trends and market conditions to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Coordination & Reporting:
- Work closely with the laboratory, operations, finance, and quality assurance teams to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and present monthly procurement reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in a healthcare, diagnostics, or hospital environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory products and equipment used in diagnostics.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., NABL, NABH, ISO) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
