Purchase Manager

The role is responsible for end-to-end Capex procurement and supplier management, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of industrial equipment and materials while maintaining compliance, quality, and sustainability standards. The position collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and drives continuous improvement in procurement processes and performance.

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

• Lead Capex purchasing activities for Greenfield projects and regular operations, including industrial equipment and MRO spares.

• Manage import logistics for Capex equipment and materials.

• Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with company policies and negotiated terms.

• Drive supplier negotiations, contract finalization, follow-up, and expediting.

• Monitor and ensure effective contract performance.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

• Assess requirements from internal user teams and identify suitable suppliers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and project needs.

Compliance, Quality & Sustainability

• Ensure all safety, quality, and guarantee documentation is up to date and validated.

• Maintain compliance with Calderys Group health and safety regulations.

• Implement corrective and preventive measures for rejected goods or services.

• Champion Responsible Purchasing Policy and sustainability initiatives.

Process Improvement & Performance Management

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen procurement systems and processes.

• Define, track, and enhance key KPIs to monitor performance and deliver operational excellence.

Education, background, level of experience

• BE /B.Tech/ M.Tech (Mechanical Engg, Industrial Engg )

• MBA in Supply Chain management Preferable.

• 10 - 15 years relevant working experience in Purchase Function in Manufacturing Industries/ Refractory, Cement/ Steel/ Aluminium, Power, Petrochemical.

• Sound knowledge of EHS, ESG, Sustainable Practice in Procurement.

• Good working experience in ERP, SAP –MM Module/ MS-Project

• Hands-on experience in Green Field Project execution!
