Role Overview
The Purchase Manager will handle the complete procurement of materials required for our space-saving furniture manufacturing unit. He will also oversee delivery logistics and installation coordination, ensuring timely materials flow, smooth dispatch, and proper customer-site installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Procurement
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for plywood, laminates, hardware, fittings, accessories, and other materials used in furniture manufacturing.
- Maintain cost control while ensuring premium quality standards.
- Build and maintain long-term vendor partnerships.
- Track stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Manage purchase orders, GRNs, bills, and related documentation.
Delivery & Logistics Management
- Plan and supervise material dispatch and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely delivery to plant, warehouses, and customer sites.
- Monitor vehicle movement, loading, unloading, and delivery concerns.
- Supervise drivers, helpers, and delivery team performance.
Installation Coordination
- Align installation team schedules based on project timelines.
- Ensure installers receive the required materials, tools, and drawings.
- Coordinate site visits and manage installation quality checks.
- Resolve installation-related issues and collect completion sign-offs.
Operational Coordination
- Work closely with production teams to understand daily and weekly material needs.
- Maintain reports on purchases, delivery, installation, and vendor performance.
- Coordinate between stores, production, delivery, and installation departments.
- Ensure all activities follow company policies and safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years purchase experience in furniture manufacturing (materials, hardware, laminates, fittings, etc.).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of furniture materials and market pricing.
- Experience handling delivery and installation teams is an added advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office and purchase/ERP systems.

- Ability to handle multitasking and field coordination under pressure.
