Purchase Manager – Edible Oil Manufacturing

Location: Delhi , Pitampura
Department: Procurement & Supply Chain
Experience Required: 5–10 Years (Preferred in Edible Oil / FMCG / Food Manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing end-to-end procurement of raw materials such as edible oils, seeds, crude oil, packaging materials, chemicals, and other production-related inputs.
• Vendor identification, evaluation, and development to ensure consistent supply quality and competitive pricing.
• Maintaining price trends of soybean, palm oil, sunflower oil, crude oil, and other raw commodities to support cost-effective buying decisions.
• Negotiating contracts, payment terms, credit limits, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements with vendors.
• Ensuring timely availability of raw materials to avoid production delays and maintain optimum stock levels.
• Coordinating with production, quality, logistics, and finance teams for smooth supply chain functioning.
• Monitoring imports, commodity rates, market fluctuations, and global pricing to plan procurement effectively.
• Maintaining purchase records, vendor database, and preparing periodic MIS/reporting for management review.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, audit requirements, GST & commercial norms while purchasing.
• Handling risk assessment, cost control, and budgeting related to procurement activities.
• Overseeing inbound logistics, freight negotiations, and transportation management.
• Managing packaging procurement (tins, jars, pouches, cartons) as per SKU requirements and production planning.

Skills & Competencies Required:

• Strong knowledge of edible oil industry markets & commodity pricing.
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of supply chain, imports, procurement contracts & commercial terms.
• Proficiency in ERP, MS Excel, purchase planning & reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving production environment with cost-saving mindset.
• Strong communication & relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualification:

• Graduate / MBA in Supply Chain / Procurement / Operations or relevant field.
• Experience in edible oil, FMCG or food manufacturing procurement is highly preferred.
