- Vendor management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, evaluating their performance, and assisting with contract negotiations.
- Procurement support: Assisting the Purchasing Manager with daily operations, processing purchase orders, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Inventory and stock control: Monitoring stock levels, identifying purchasing needs, and liaising with warehouse staff to ensure product quality and proper storage.
- Cost and price analysis: Conducting market research to understand pricing trends, preparing cost analyses, and negotiating better prices with vendors.
- Order and delivery tracking: Placing orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Reporting and administration: Preparing reports for management, maintaining purchasing records, and updating internal databases with vendor and order information.
Required skills and qualifications
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with supply chain management and purchasing functions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in inventory management and vendor relationship management is often required.
