JOB DESCRIPTION

The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services required by the organization. You should be able to demonstrate and drive procurement strategies, processes, negotiating (in-case of Indirect material) and leadership skills to align purchasing with effective supplier service level management.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Team leadership: building, managing and training team members
  • Supplier Management: Fostering long-term relationships and ensuring consistent supply of material/services
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, supporting PFEP strategies, preventing shortages or excess inventory
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring all purchasing activities adhere to regulations and ethical standards and documenting all procurement activities.
  • Internal Collaborations: Working with other departments, such as production and PMO, to understand their needs and ensure orders are fulfilled.

  • You are a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain dynamics.

  • You have excellent negotiation skills and a proven ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • You are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with data to drive decisions.
  • You are a collaborative leader who can manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • You are proactive, ethical, and committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements in procurement.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
