The Purchase Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing, cost optimization, vendor management, inventory efficiency, and procurement compliance. The role focuses on ensuring timely and accurate procurement of raw materials and production requirements while achieving cost savings and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead vendor negotiations to achieve a minimum 10% cost savings on procurement contracts through effective pricing, terms, and sourcing strategies.
- Conduct cost analysis and market benchmarking to optimize procurement spend.
- Ensure 97%+ order fulfilment accuracy, managing purchase orders, quantities, urgency, and on-time delivery.
- Evaluate and manage vendor performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely deliveries with a satisfaction score of 90% or above.
- Monitor and improve inventory turnover, maintaining an optimal ratio of 6 or higher through proactive order planning.
- Streamline purchase order processing, achieving an average turnaround time of 3 business days or less.
- Maintain 100% accuracy and compliance in procurement records, documentation, and internal audits.
- Support supplier diversity initiatives, ensuring at least 15% of procurement spend is allocated to diverse suppliers.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly procurement reports to management with insights and improvement recommendations.
