Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Purchase Manager with 2–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to join our team in Arumbakkam. The successful candidate will handle the procurement of raw materials, packaging supplies, and consumables, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards and supporting efficient production operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on pharma procurement experience looking to contribute to a quality-driven and ethical organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and consumables as per production needs.
• Evaluate, select, and manage vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, WHO, and FDA procurement standards.
• Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers.
• Work closely with Production, QA/QC, Stores, and Accounts teams.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and manage reorder schedules.
• Issue and track purchase orders; ensure proper documentation for all purchases.
• Address supplier issues, delays, or material quality concerns.
• Maintain procurement records and prepare regular purchase reports.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
• 2–3 years of experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Good knowledge of GMP, WHO-GMP, FDA compliance in purchasing activities.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar) and MS Office.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to handle multi-department coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate diploma in Supply Chain / Materials Management.
• Experience with pharma documentation such as COA, MSDS.
• Exposure to import procurement (optional).
