The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, services, and subcontract works required for interior fit-out projects. The role ensures timely procurement, cost optimization, quality compliance, and vendor management in line with project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities1. Procurement Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute project-wise procurement plans aligned with project schedules and BOQs.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials such as:
  • Carpentry & joinery items
  • Gypsum boards, partitions & ceilings
  • Flooring materials (tiles, carpet, vinyl, wood)
  • Paints, finishes & wall coverings
  • Electrical & lighting fixtures
  • Furniture, loose furniture & modular items
  • Coordinate with project and site teams to understand material specifications and delivery timelines.

2. Vendor Sourcing & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain an approved vendor list (AVL).
  • Negotiate prices, credit terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and service support.
  • Monitor vendor performance in terms of quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues, delays, or quality non-conformances.

3. Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Ensure procurement is within approved project budgets and target costs.
  • Obtain multiple quotations and conduct comparative statement (CS) analysis.
  • Support value engineering and alternate material suggestions without compromising quality.
  • Track price trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Control material wastage and over-ordering.

4. Purchase Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and issue Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and Work Orders (WOs).
  • Ensure POs are aligned with BOQ, drawings, specifications, and approvals.
  • Maintain complete procurement documentation including:
  • Quotations & CS
  • POs / WOs
  • Delivery challans
  • GRNs
  • Tax invoices
  • Ensure GST compliance and coordination with finance for vendor payments.

5. Coordination with Internal Teams

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Stores, Billing, and Finance teams.
  • Coordinate with stores for material receipt, inspection, and inventory control.
  • Support billing team with PO references and vendor documentation.
  • Attend project review meetings related to procurement and material status.

6. Inventory & Logistics Management

  • Plan material deliveries as per site readiness and storage availability.
  • Ensure proper tracking of material movement from vendor to site.
  • Avoid site congestion, damage, or theft due to improper logistics planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels and minimize dead or excess stock.

7. Quality & Specification Compliance

  • Ensure procured materials meet approved samples, mock-ups, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with quality team for material inspections and approvals.
  • Handle material rejections and replacements promptly.

8. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and submit procurement MIS reports including:
  • PO status
  • Material delivery schedules
  • Vendor performance
  • Cost savings achieved
  • Provide procurement forecasts and risk alerts to management.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of interior materials, finishes, and execution methods
  • Cost control and commercial understanding
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and procurement software
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask across projects

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma / BE / BTech in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 6–10 years of experience in procurement for interior fit-out / construction projects
  • Experience in corporate / commercial interior projects preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
