Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager – Saree Department with strong expertise in sourcing, buying, and managing a wide range of sarees. The ideal candidate should have deep market knowledge, strong vendor networks, and hands-on experience in premium and mass saree categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute saree purchasing strategies aligned with sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Independently handle buying for:
• Pure Silk Sarees
• Banarasi Sarees
• Kathpadar Sarees
• Paithani Sarees
• Designer Sarees
• Synthetic Sarees
• Identify new suppliers and maintain long-term relationships with existing vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
• Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity.
• Ensure right product mix, margin control, and stock optimization.
• Coordinate with merchandising, sales, and warehouse teams for smooth inward and replenishment.
• Ensure quality checks, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Control slow-moving stock and support clearance planning.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of saree fabrics, weaving styles, regions, and pricing.
• Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Market intelligence for traditional and contemporary sarees.
• Ability to forecast demand and plan purchases accordingly.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 7–10 years of exclusive experience in saree purchasing (Retail / Wholesale).
• Hands-on buying experience from saree hubs and markets.
• Experience working with organized retail brands preferred.
• Willingness to travel for buying and sourcing.
