Purchase Specialist

The Specialist research evaluates and purchases services, supplies and equipment based on price, service, quality and warranty to meet the needs of the company.

Key Activities

• Responsible for overall purchasing cycle from start to end
• Executes the purchasing of services and supplies necessary for operation of an organization including machinery, equipment, tools, and raw materials.
• Provides guidance to maintain communications between purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing regarding inventory levels.
• Develop and source the materials & services with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Reviews proposals for price, delivery time and quality and then selects suppliers. Evaluates price trends, new products and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinates with other departments to determine materials needed and schedules to be met.
• Evaluate and select suppliers.
• Negotiate terms for major purchases within established limits of authority.
• Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
• Select and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

Qualification & Experience

• Mechanical Engineer or Diploma in Mechanical
• 3 to 4 Years Experience in Procurement
