The Specialist research evaluates and purchases services, supplies and equipment based on price, service, quality and warranty to meet the needs of the company.
Key Activities
- Responsible for overall purchasing cycle from start to end
- Executes the purchasing of services and supplies necessary for operation of an organization including machinery, equipment, tools, and raw materials.
- Provides guidance to maintain communications between purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing regarding inventory levels.
- Develop and source the materials & services with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Reviews proposals for price, delivery time and quality and then selects suppliers. Evaluates price trends, new products and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinates with other departments to determine materials needed and schedules to be met.
- Evaluate and select suppliers.
- Negotiate terms for major purchases within established limits of authority.
- Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
- Select and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
Qualification & Experience
- Mechanical Engineer or Diploma in Mechanical
- 3 to 4 Years Experience in Procurement
