Position Purpose:

Reviews and processes documents such as subcontractor timesheets, purchase orders, and vendor quotes. Assists in researching vendors and in preparing, reviewing, and posting purchase orders into our accounting system, Costpoint.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research’s and evaluates potential vendors and agreements.
  • Assists and occasionally fill in for Senior Purchaser.
  • Maintains a working understanding of legal and regulatory requirements relating to purchase and procurement, including maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains working relationships with vendors, and discuss invoicing and terms, as needed.
  • Audits invoices and checks for accuracy, receipt of material, and compliance with purchase orders. Resolves invoice discrepancies, investigates root cause, and works with team to prevent future discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, or related discipline.
    • Additional experience in procurement of goods and services or other related areas may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.)

Certification

  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or obtain the certification within 12 months of the date of hire

Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience in procurement of goods and services
  • Experience in procurement in a government contracting environment, preferred
  • Experience with DelTek Costpoint, preferred
