Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Purchaser to manage procurement activities for our building construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining cost efficiency while meeting quality and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies
- Monitor material requirements based on project schedules and site demands
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites
- Maintain accurate purchase records, inventory levels, and supplier documentation
- Track market trends, pricing, and availability of construction materials
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, accounts, and stores teams
- Control procurement costs and support budget planning
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, quantity, or delivery delays
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, vendors, and supply chain processes
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with residential or commercial building construction product
- Knowledge of local and international suppliers
- Familiarity with contract terms and vendor compliance
- Cost control and budgeting experience
