Join Our Team as a Purchasing Agent:

Ready to play a pivotal role in driving automation success? As a Purchasing Agent at Acieta, you’ll be responsible for ordering and ensuring the timely delivery of products. The Purchasing Agent will input and process purchase orders, order and maintain inventory, maintain the necessary records and office systems, and interface with other members of the company to provide a positive relationship and promote teamwork.

What You Get to Do:

  • Complete purchasing duties as needed including documents such as purchase orders, customer orders, receiving papers, and shipping papers.
  • Review purchasing demand and work to provide the best overall value through prices, credit terms, discounts, and delivery.
  • Enter purchase orders, credit memos, material transfers, and inventory.
  • Contact vendors to obtain necessary information (restock charge, RGN, address, special shipping instructions, and length of time to receive credit), fill out return forms, suspend tickets, and shipping papers when parts are returned.
  • Measure and track cost savings and cost containment and report monthly with an overall savings goal of >5%.
  • Follow up and confirm purchase orders and update system as required.
  • Adhere to all site procedures and company policies.
  • Frequently inspect and assist spare parts orders, follow up on overdue orders and returns, and contact others as necessary.
  • Assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Coordinate with accounting to resolve inventory, invoicing and payment discrepancies.
  • File correspondence such as completed spare parts orders, completed purchase orders, and other records.
  • Covering for other positions as needed such as shipping/receiving and incoming calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Ability to commute to our Shelbyville, IN location 5 days per week in an fully onsite capacity.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 3+ years of purchasing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) for 1+ years.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Skilled in scheduling meetings and coordinating across cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Excellent computer, communication, and proofreading skills.
  • Commitment to time schedules, organization, and teamwork.

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and move about the worksite as needed.
  • Frequent use of hands to operate tools, controls, and equipment; occasional positioning of self to access low or elevated areas.
  • Regular lifting and moving of up to 25 lbs., frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Primarily based in an office setting, with occasional visits to a fabrication/manufacturing floor for collaboration.
  • Periodic exposure to moving machinery, mechanical components, and potential electrical hazards, requiring attention to safety protocols and appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Manufacturing areas are characterized by elevated noise levels consistent with industrial workspaces, where standard hearing protection may be necessary.
  • Occasional walking or standing during floor visits; administrative tasks are performed seated in an office environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
