About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent 1 to join our procurement team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in managing the acquisition of goods and services essential for our organization's operations. Your primary responsibilities will involve evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

· Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria

· Interviewing suppliers’ and visiting suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services and pricing

· Negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company

· Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives

· Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors

· Authorizing payments and maintain receipts, records and inventories

· Reconciling with warehouse and accounting to insure accurate billing

· Attend industry trade shows to learn about trends and to meet suppliers
Department Specific Requirements

· Responsible for Deal Coordination

· Must negotiate co-sponsorships from affiliated suppliers

· Must Have 1-2 Years of Purchasing Experience

· Understanding of business and management principles.

· Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company. Software Knowledge

· Microsoft Great Plains

· Microsoft Office Suite

· Windows 10

· B.I. Software (Qliksense/Cubes preferred)

· Proof HQ

· Program Manager

· Outlook

· Web Based CMS Software

Qualifications:

· A Bachelor’s degree and or 1-3 years of experience in operational roles

· Experience in fast-paced, ambiguous environments driving projects from strategy through implementation; happy to roll up your sleeves to get any job done

· Highly analytical and data driven -- can drive complex analyses and translate into key actionable insights; can manage projects to KPIs and metrics

· Ability to work cross-functionally with data science, product, engineering, sales, brand management, and business operations teams to achieve business objectives

· Excellent written and verbal communicator

· Ability to operate effectively under pressure and deliver results

· Ability to use data to inform key decision making and strategic direction; sound business judgment to run process improvement tests

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
