Job Description

The Purchasing Agent Intern will gather and compare quotes for goods and services in accordance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in supporting the development and implementation of purchasing processes across departments for corporate operations.

  • Request and compile quotes for goods and services in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.

  • Support coordination with department managers to monitor and maintain inventory levels.

  • Assist in evaluating vendors based on pricing, reliability, service quality, and transaction history.

  • Observe and support vendor communications, including discussions related to pricing and available discounts.

  • Review purchasing documents for completeness and accuracy.

  • Weekly attendance to Aloha Culture meeting.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic understanding of purchasing or supply chain principles.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This position operates in an office/hotel setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This role requires forty hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

There is limited travel between properties.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Current college student or recent graduate with a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.

  • Hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
