The Purchasing Agent is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager by performing a variety of technical activities relating to the procurement of goods, materials, supplies, and equipment, perform related processing and record keeping functions; operate within a framework of standard policies and procedures; exercise fiscal responsibility for accurate and timely performance of procurement support activities; and perform related duties assigned.
Level I – Basic ability to quickly grasp material inventory, ordering and processing orders to obtain the best pricing on behalf of the company.
Level II – Add understanding material for the electrical industry including wire and commodities needed for our industry including some additional processes in the absence of fleet/equipment manager to keep the field personnel productive
Level III – Add ability to assist Purchasing Manager with higher level needs, advancing reporting needs for the company and act on behalf of the Purchasing Manager in case of an absence.

Specific Job Responsibilities
Level I
- Prepare requisitions for restocking and replacement of warehouse items, PPE and safety supplies
- Receive and verify all purchase orders and issue requisitioned items from inventory.
- Inventory and purchase items for vending machines
- Ensure proper documentation is on file as reference for PO's and payments.
- Receive and verify all acknowledgements match purchase orders and issue requisitioned items from inventory.
- Input and retrieve data from the inventory control system.
- Provide information on inventory to the Departments.
- Releasing material from buyouts.
- Enter purchase orders on behalf of the company in computer system; follow-up on purchase orders to ensure receipt of proper quality and quantity on specified dates; investigate and resolve problems regarding shipment discrepancies.
- Input data to change orders into system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Level II
- Includes Level 1 responsibilities
- Must have 1 to 2 years' experience in the electrical industry
- Writing/ Processing requisitions, entering purchase orders, bids, proposals and quotations.
- Write purchase Orders on behalf of the company for job site deliveries, fabrication department and large purchase orders for Project Managers
- Checks for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established standards.
- Conduct necessary follow-up and tracking to finalize purchasing transactions.
- Send wire orders out for quote.
- Log all rentals into the rental log in absence of the Fleet/Equipment manager.
- Issues inventory report, in/out status report, dead stock report, goods aging report, and consumption report
Level III
- Includes Level 1 and Level 2 skills
- Negotiate with Vendors on behalf of the company as needed.
- Manage and control all procedures related to purchasing as well as processes.
- Help Purchasing Manager oversee the management of personnel responsible for tool inventory and control responsibilities
- Act on behalf of the Purchasing Manager in their absence.
- Assists in logistics of delivery, maintenance, and purchasing of vehicles, machinery and equipment.

Required Skills & Experience
- 1 to 2 Years warehouse experience is preferred.
- Must possess excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Must possess excellent documentation and oral communication skills.
- Candidates should have a basic understanding of the electrical industry.
- Must possess an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving.
- Must be intrinsically motivated, detail oriented and not accept second-best.
- Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills to work in a diverse, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in company business strategies.
