Job Overview
The Purchasing and Import Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services from domestic and international suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining compliance with all import regulations. This role requires attention to detail, and expertise in international logistics and trade documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate import activities, including customs clearance, freight forwarding, and shipment tracking.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import/export regulations and ensure all documentation is correctly completed and filed.
- Work closely with internal departments such as logistics, finance, and inventory management to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, shipments, or customs documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, imports, and related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.
- 3-4+ years of experience in purchasing, import/export, or supply chain roles.
- Solid knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/inventory management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Multilingual skills are mandatory: English and Spanish.
Working Conditions
This position operates in an office. The Purchasing and Import Specialist may need to work extended hours during peak periods or when resolving urgent supply chain issues.
Reporting Structure
The Purchasing and Import Specialist reports to the Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager and may work closely with junior procurement staff, logistics coordinators, or customs brokers.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
