Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our Purchasing Directors with daily purchasing operations, vendor communication, and order processing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities with ease, and take pride in accuracy and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities over time

  • Diligently tracking invenotry for reordering
  • Assist multiple Purchasing Directors in creating and managing purchase orders
  • Correct data entry
  • Communicate with vendors via email, phone, or in person to obtain quotes, confirm orders, and follow up on deliveries
  • Reconcile bills and verify pricing and quantities for accuracy
  • Maintain precise and organized purchasing records, history, and documentation
  • Track order statuses and proactively address any discrepancies or delays
  • Support general purchasing department operations as needed
  • Participate in a hands-on training period at our sales counter to gain product and operational knowledge
  • Assist customers in person or over the phone during training—creating orders, answering questions, and learning product details

Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail—precision is essential
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to multitask effectively across multiple projects and supervisors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills
  • Prior purchasing, administrative, or customer service experience preferred
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
