Assist purchasing and planning with various data entry and analytical functions in an effort to communicate and display the most accurate information at all times. Contribute to purchasing and planning Department’s ability to reach goals and KPIs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain estimated ship dates from fabric, frame, and supermarket mills and vendors to ensure accurate back in stock dates.
  • Duties include writing orders, change orders, cancellations, and follow-up (both externally and internally). Ensures all shipments are delivered and processed on time.
  • Update fabric, frame and supermarket pricing.
  • Interacts with key warehouse personnel and customer service to assure that all materials and products are in-stock to support production demand.
  • Assist in providing customer service, customers, and sales with pertinent information efficiently and accurately.
  • When necessary, help receive fabric, frame, and supermarket purchase orders daily to ensure inventory remains at accurate levels and purchase orders are properly closed out.
  • Provide accounts payable with proper 3-way match of purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Assist in scheduling functions of upholstery operations.
  • Help planning locate old orders that need to be expedited once materials become available.
  • Assist Fabric Purchasing agent calculate grades for Fairfield and FOM fabrics due to price changes or various requests from CSRs.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and indexes to help communicate future price, delivery, or product changes.
  • Works with vendors on priority order management.
  • Support key buyers in best approach to resolve quality issues as they arise.
  • Other assignments as defined

Qualification requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, preferred
  • Experience in AS400 a plus
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • High aptitude in organization, stress and time management, and dependability
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

Physical demands and abilities

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to lift 25 pounds, occasionally
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects
  • Work hours are Monday – Friday – 40 hours.
