Purchasing Clerk

College Hospital Costa Mesa is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Purchasing Clerk to join our Central Supply & Materials Management team. In this key role, you will support the smooth operation of our hospital by ensuring that essential medical supplies, equipment, and materials are ordered, received, and distributed efficiently.

• Process purchase orders for medical supplies, equipment, and inventory items.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels in the materials management system.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with Central Supply staff to monitor stock, identify shortages, and ensure appropriate par levels.
• Verify incoming shipments; match packing slips to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Ensure compliance with hospital purchasing policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and efficient supply chain operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• Experience in healthcare purchasing, central supply, or materials management strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical supplies, inventory systems, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency with computers and materials management software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and vendor-relation skills.
• Ability to lift and move supply boxes as needed (typically 20–40 lbs).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
