Purchasing Coordinator

For over 75 years, United Tool & Machine has provided state-of-the art CNC precision machining, die cutting, and metal stamping services to companies across a wide range of industries. We're a stable, growing company that values a strong work ethic and a healthy work/life balance.

We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to:

• · Purchase the bulk of production raw materials (coil, sheet, roll and bar stock)
• Purchase tooling, office supplies, maintenance, packaging and all other items as req'd
• · Coordinate with production planning, scheduling & control
• · Monitor inventories

Any mix of the following experience or skills is desired:

· Prior purchasing experience in a manufacturing company

· Exposure to ERP software

· Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes

· Vendor relations and negotiating skills

· Small company experience

· Strong computer skills

· Continuous improvement exposure

This position is a great match for a hands-on, team-oriented, and ethical materials professional. Will also consider a recent college business graduate looking to start a career with a growing company.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations or other related field
• 5+ years of materials experience
• Comprehensive understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Facilitation, team building and change management skills
