Prime Line Distributors is an importer of selected specialty foods, from artisanal cheeses, fine cured meats, charcuterie, extra virgin olive oils, aged vinegars, imported pastas, truffles, wild mushrooms, San Marzano tomatoes, imported rice, imported flours, ancient grains, Italian espresso, and many more other specialty products. We deliver daily with our own fleet of refrigerated trucks with our divisions located in New York City, South & Central Florida, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. We also ship across the country and export to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Position Summary

The Purchasing & Inventory Control Coordinator will manage supplies, materials, and parts while maintaining accurate inventory across all company divisions. Coordinates with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, resolve issues, and optimize workflow. Oversees equipment transfers, generates third-party work orders, conducts inventory audits, and supports year-end reconciliation to meet operational goals efficiently.

What you will do:

  • Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
  • Generate work orders for 3rd party companies when needed in the New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles divisions.
  • Coordinate and oversees all equipment transfer among all division (NY, FL, NV, LA)
  • Assist in year-end inventory count and reconciliation.
  • Ensures milestones and goals are met.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as inventory software.
  • A College degree is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (written and oral) & Spanish (oral).
