Job Title: Purchasing Inventory Specialist Department: Bloomington Medical Services

Reports to: Director of Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)


Job Summary:

The purchasing and inventory clerk is responsible for sourcing and acquiring goods and services for Bloomington Medical Services. Position includes evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory and records. Key duties include researching vendors, preparing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and analyzing cost proposals to ensure the best possible value in terms of price, quality, and reliability.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between BMS practices and Dasco for obtaining DME for practices
  • Works with practice managers and staff to determine purchasing needs
  • Identifies most appropriate suppliers and compares pricing, delivery costs and quality
  • Performs all purchasing functions, including creating purchase orders
  • Monitors practice inventories
  • Updates director of any new products, price changes, obsolete products, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate degree in business administration or similar concentration a plus.

1-2 years Medical Office purchasing experience desired.
