Job Posting: Purchase Assistant

Position: Purchase Assistant
Location: Chennai
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Procurement / Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Obtain and compare quotations to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the procurement system.
  • Monitor order status, follow up on delivery schedules, and resolve any supply issues.
  • Maintain supplier files and update the approved vendor list.
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding material requirements and specifications.
  • Track inventory levels and support stock replenishment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
  • Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
