Purchasing Specialist

Primary Focus

This is a full-time on-site role located in NYC on West 33rd Street. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, creating purchase orders and reporting analytics.

Collaborate regularly with product design and development team to source and negotiate costs with our overseas vendor partners

Ensure product samples are shipped on a timely basis to meet deadlines for our fashion retail customers, and communicate any concerns or issues to the necessary individuals within the organization

Create purchase orders to suppliers with detailed instructions and follow up on order status.

Continuous communication with the sales team, advising of any upcoming delays or issues that arise during the production process

Daily communication with our Asia office team members to answer questions, resolve any development, quality or production issues and ensure that customer expectations are continued to be met

Keys to Success

Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics or related field is preferred

• Working knowledge of purchasing processes and skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Superior negotiating skills, or the ability to learn how to negotiate
• Detail oriented and able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Products, especially Word, Excel, Outlook
• Prior experience in fashion, jewelry or accessories industry is a Plus!
