Purchasing Specialist

Gilson Company, Inc. is currently in search of a Purchasing Specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who excels at generating purchase orders, resourcing alternative vendors, global supply chain trends, costs and discounts while focusing on attention to details. Someone who is reliable and professional and enjoys a casual, family owned, and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

· Use reporting to generate concise, logically and accurate purchasing orders

· Following up with vendors on expected ship dates throughout the purchase order process

· Resource alternative vendors to increase savings, reliability, quality and lead times.

· Prepare reports and articulate recommendations

· Work with customer service, production, manufacturing and shipping to ensure our customers’ needs are our #1 priority

· Contribute to improving the efficiency of current purchasing processes

· Research the manufacturing of raw material components for assembly builds

· Complete projects assigned by the Purchasing Manager

Qualifications:

  • Previous purchasing experience or knowledge of the material testing equipment industry or 2+ years of Gilson tenure
  • Ability to complete assignments correctly and on time
  • Detail oriented
  • Mindfulness of the economic impact purchasing has on Gilson
  • Resourceful problem solving
  • Ability to multitask
  • NetSuite experience a plus
