Purchasing Specialist

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and products are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of supply chain management. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with suppliers to meet the organisations purchasing needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and existing suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, application and other criteria;
• Negotiate contracts with vendors (existing and new);
• Issue purchase orders based on needs of all departments;
• Verify accuracy of delivery of material against purchasing orders and packing lists;
• Interact with suppliers to resolve issues;
• Maintain accurate levels of inventory on all parts;
• Conduct cost analysis and possibly seek more cost-effective options;
• Coordinate with accounts payable to ensure timely payment of invoices;
• Prepare a quarterly inventory for all parts and for all departments.

Job Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in purchasing with duties and responsibilities similar to the ones listed
• 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment preferred;
• Understanding of manufacturing planning and purchasing
• Effective analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent Excel skills
• Self-starter
• College degree in Business or Mathematics/statistics preferred
• Available to work in office Monday- Friday 7:30 am -4:00 pm

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
