Purchasing/Inventory Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials and finished goods for the Paddywax brand. Works with vendors and senior management to negotiate purchasing contracts. Assists the Brand Director with activities related to product specifications, CAS forms, and quality control.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviews requisitions, confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price availability and delivery schedule.

· Reviews purchase order claims, pricing and contracts for conformance to company policy.

· Determines methods of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

· Prepares purchase orders or bid requests writing specification sheets.

· Communicates with outside vendors domestic & international and export/import on on-going projects and future goals.

· Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

· Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery product quality or performance.

· Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.

· Analyzes marketing and sales surveys on current and new product concepts performs cost analysis sheet.

· Complies, analyzes, and retrieves purchasing data for senior management.

· Work with product team and factories to develop new product concepts to drive sales.

· Work with overseas factories to request samples.

· Assist product team with maintenance of information on model, line and system.

· Assign stock numbers for product/sales team as needed

· Proof product and label files for accuracy before files are sent to factories.

· Some overseas travel may be required to find new product offerings and meet with factories.

· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

· 3-5 years procurement experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures for small manufacturing organizations.

· Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
